I believe our students need access to all types of post-secondary options

My motivation is to help students gain experience so they can make more informed decisions about their post-high school lives.

So students are able to explore possible career options and also pursue employment where they can gain high quality one-on-one training in a real world environment. They can learn more in a month in the field than two years in a classroom.

How much time or direct contact does the Professional Partner need to have with the student to qualify for the WBL credit hours?

Off-Site Placement Opportunities. There are plenty of HVAC jobs for whichever student wants one!

We have an established pre-apprenticeship. We also have three pathways with job shadowing experiences

We have many small businesses who would love to have students do work-based learning with them - so a great idea to survey your area small businesses as well as the larger ones :)

Van Buren HS has an in-school store. The Business Foundations class manages the store (The Armory), and our Graphic Arts classes create the products sold in the store (screen-printed clothing, vinyl added to mugs, etc. - a wide variety of products). They are really doing some impressive work.

Mirroring industry standards in video production: product is discussed by client with student/student creates product planning with Professional/ Productis created by student/ reviewed and corrected by Professional/ client receives and critiques product/ profession and student discuss changes/ final product deklivered= does all this count as hours?

One example of ODE reaching out through businesses through Business Advisory Councils (BAC) - our region has gained a lot of new business partners by reaching out to and participating in their meetings!
